Dronita was a very special mare. She was so gentle, sweet and affectionate. She had an entertaining way about her, always finding something to make me laugh. Dronita was a big mare with a big heart, and my heart will always be missing something without her here. She runs and grazes in peace, over the Rainbow Bridge....and I miss her.

"Daurie"
Daurie passed over the Rainbow Bridge to run and graze with Dronita. I find it especially emotional that my beloved mares left me on the same date. I know they are together. Daurie was exceptional. She was a Stakes winning race mare, set a track record and equaled another. She was a wonderful broodmare and spent her retirement years in peace and contentment. Daurie was well aware of the great love I felt for her, our bond went very deep. No words can express how much I miss her.

Somewhere..... Somewhere
in times own space,
there must be some sweet pastured place,
where creeks sing on and tall trees grow,
some Paradise where horses go.
For by the love that guides my pen, I know great horses live again.
Poem by S Harrison
"Speed is bred thru blood, but the attributes of 'gameness' and generosity are something else. And therein lies the sweet mystery of the race horse.

The Thoroughbred is bred to run,to race, and so the quality of being 'game' is something this creature understands, because that is what we have sought for over 300 years.
The will and determination to turn away others, to be 'generous in his striving to win a race, are hallmarks of the Thoroughbred's competitive fire"
Quote from C.V Anderson:
The blood runs hot in the Thoroughbred, the courage runs deep and their pride is limitless. This is their heritage, and they carry it like a banner"
